In their back garden in Aylesbury, Les
Stocker and his wife Sue run a wildlife hospital where, day and night, pathetic
furry and feathered bundles arrive in cardboard boxes.
In these magical pages - full of heartbreak and hilarity - irascible badgers rub
shoulders with foxes and muntjac deer, hedgehogs with toads and mink; there are
sad tales of human heartlessness, dramatic dashes across country, strange and
wonderful stories of a python, a kestrel, a puffin, grebes and a host of other

Les Stocker trained as an accountant but always wanted to work with animals. At
last he is nearing fulfilment of a dream - the building of Europe's first
wildlife teaching hospital. |
