This book is an introduction to the
everyday life of one important group of British animals, namely mammals.
Although many of them live in close existence to man, we are unaware of their
presence. This book covers all the main British species in a good level of
detail; with excellent descriptions, illustrations and photographs of species
including foxes, badgers, rabbits, hare, hedgehogs, bats, mice and others. Tony
Soper described the habits and habitats of such animals and shows how to
encourage them- for example by giving detailed plans for building nesting boxes,
mammal tables; and how to observe them without disturbing them. Tony Soper is a
naturalist, writer and broadcaster. Somewhat over-shadowed by the fame of the
Attenborough clan, he was the founder of the BBC Natural History Unit. |
