Badgers and dog fatally poisoned
16 March 2004 - BBC News
A mystery poisoner may have killed four badgers and a dog in Leicestershire, according to the RSPCA.
An anonymous caller said three adult badgers and a cub were found dead in Burleigh Woods near Loughborough.
Vets have also treated two pet dogs for suspected poisoning, but one died of kidney failure.
Loughborough University, which owns Burleigh Woods in Nanpanton, wants the public to stay away until further notice.
Meanwhile police and RSPCA officials are looking for the carcasses of the four dead badgers.
