Whether you're a beginner or a keen gardener here is a complete guide to every aspect of gardening. How to be a Gardener came as something of a surprise, since, for years Alan Titchmarsh has been telling viewers exactly that anyway. What's new here is an all-encompassing structure and a sterling attempt to be definitive. The wealth of information in this eight-part series, spread over four hours, is astounding. Each show is loosely themed (e.g., pests and diseases), and manages to spend as much time telling you what you shouldn't do as endorsing what you should.

Gordon the garden gnome is a superb children's series which young children thoroughly enjoy. Titchmarsh is the perfect choice for Gordon's voice - friendly and comforting. The show is packed with plenty of humour, especially from the two slugs Lez and Dez and there's enough jokes to amuse kids and adults alike. The stories are very strong and not predictable in the slightest and the use of magic really adds a sparkle to the whole show, making it much more fantastical and fun than Bob the builder.

We really enjoyed this DVD set. I had seen bits and pieces so had to buy it to find out more. I recommend this as a light and easy but informative watch. Even my 6 year old like it, and it is much more engaging for younger children than other natural history programs which can be very dry.
