Badgers

On the two occasions we have been to the Highland Wildlife Park, we have seen badgers. They live in a small shed - you can normally see them sleeping in their nests, as you view them through a glass window. The badgers also have a concrete-walled run, which includes various bits of vegetation, logs, rocks and "toys".

Summary

Discover Scottish wildlife, past and present at this unique attraction owned by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. Encounter native species then step back in time and meet those creatures long since extinct in the wild - the animals of your ancestors. Explore the main reserve by car for an exciting 'safari experience' with large herds of deer, bison, wild horses and Highland cattle roaming freely. Get eye to eye with a wonderful variety of creatures in the walk-around areas including lynx, wildcat, reindeer, arctic fox, otter, badger and owl. Venture into Wolf Territory where a raised walkway leads you into the heart of the enclosure above the Park's magnificent pack of wolves.

  • Baby-change facilities, suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair access
  • Parking available
  • Cafe/restaurant and excellent Picnic area

Badger Trips =
Locations where you can see badgers in a wildlife park (possibly in an underground hide, pen or enclosure). These may be suitable for school or family day-trips. There will often be a need for patient, quiet observation in the wild; and may not be suitable for very young or noisy children.
