Call to Public to Protect Badgers

Badger baiting in Lincolnshire can only be stamped out with the help of the
public, police have said.
Officers are appealing for people to help the authorities by reporting any
incidents - but are warning the perpetrators should not be confronted.
It comes as recent cases of badger baiting are investigated in the Market
Rasen area.
Wildlife Crime Officer PC Nigel Lound called baiting "barbaric" and said it
should be stopped.
He added: "The majority of people involved are criminals and they are not
pleasant individuals and under no circumstances should they be approached by
members of the public.
"But there are positive things we can do, the first one being reporting all
sightings of live badgers and setts to the Lincolnshire badger group.
"And it's only by this sort of co-operation we can make sure this barbaric
